C4 / PROTECTING THE HABITATS OF THE MALAGASY POND HERON FROM THREATS.
Aim: Install protection measures to prevent habitat destruction and poaching at the Malagasy pond heron’s breeding and feeding sites. Mangroves, used as a breeding site, will be respected via different protection measures and surveyed by the installation of a look-out tower and surveillance patrols. Feeding sites will also benefit from management actions and restoration.
