C5 / CONCRETE AND SUSTAINABLE MEASURES FOR GROUPER CONSERVATION

Aim: In Guyana, encourage sport and professional fishermen to develop sustainable grouper fishing practices during consultation meetings and extend a prefectural decree to protect the species over their respective territories and publish a good conduct guide.

At Saint-Martin, set-up a concerted grouper conservation strategy with socio-economic actors with the aim of adopting a prefectural degree governing grouper fishing. Use a scientific fishing protocol which will allow for the identification of the period and main places for protecting young groupers arriving at Saint-Martin’s coastal habitats.
