LIFE BIODIV’OM celebrates its 2 years !
A year rich in communication
To make the project known to the general public, various communication tools have been created:
• 14,600 visits to the website since its creation in May 2019
• 1300 subscribers on the Facebook page
• 1 traveling exhibition sent to each territory with more than 1000 people sensitized since the start of 2020, despite the confinement
• 7 volunteer brochures
• 16 interventions in schools
• 1 global presentation video of LIFE BIODIV’OM with more than 18,000 views
• 6 awareness-raising clips with over 77,000 cumulative views
• 5 additional videos produced with more than 100,000 cumulative views
• 75 articles in the press, radio, newspapers since the start of the program’s launch
A year of action
Several highlights deserve to be highlighted:
• First Madagascar pond heron capture mission in Mayotte, a world first
• Launch of actions to restore wet meadows in Mayotte to protect the Madagascar pond heron
• Conduct of surveys among fishermen in Guyana
• First tests against Niaoulis carried out
• Drafting of the Niaouli management plan in Guyana
• Establishment of the larvae capture protocol and artificial nurseries in Saint-Martin
• Second season of participatory workcamps with the Tuit-tuit brigade in Reunion island
• Launch of the first drone rat control sessions in Reunion Island
• Consultations with Martinique farmers
